Spring Update & Survey

We hope you are staying safe and healthy during this uncertain time. Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone all planned tree planting events in April and May. This includes Renaissance Tree Program, Urban Airshed Reforestation Program, and Green Streets projects.

All spring tree planting events will be rescheduled to fall 2020. If you have ever attended one of our events before, you know it is not possible to practice social distancing while planting trees. It is the NJ Tree Foundation’s goal during this time to keep our staff, friends, family, and communities healthy and safe.

Some good news: Our annual TreeKeepers workshops are being moved to a virtual format. We hope to begin TreeKeepers during the first week of May. TreeKeepers will be free for all and held through Zoom. The three, one-hour long informative TreeKeepers courses will cover tree care, maintenance, pruning, hazards, and environmental benefits. Each course will be held at two different dates/times and open to thirty registrants. As always, TreeKeepers courses will count toward the CEUs required for your municipality’s Community Forestry Management Plan.

We will miss being in person with you this spring but we still want to be here for you. Please take our short spring content survey to help us plan our new, online spring programming. This survey will help us determine the best days and times to host TreeKeepers and give us direction on additional content you would like to see from us. Based on the survey results, we will release the schedule for all TreeKeepers classes and will continue to post about tree care, invasive species, and more on all social media platforms and via email if you are interested. Please take this survey by Friday, April 17th:
