Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)

What is this?
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) larval channels. EAB larvae feed on the cambium layer of the Ash tree. EAB is an invasive pest that feeds on and eventually kills Ash trees. It is a serious problem that needs to be reported and dealt with in order to prevent it from spreading.

How do I fix it?
This is not something you can take care of by yourself. Call the NJ Tree Foundation staff, a tree expert, or the NJ Department of Agriculture. To report EAB or signs of EAB in your town, call the New Jersey Department of Agriculture at 609-406-6939.

Can it be prevented in the future?
Yes, there are treatments for Emerald Ash Borer. Visit this website for more information.
