How do I fix it?
Even if we did not plant the tree, you can call your NJ Tree Foundation contact and ask them for advice. This tree needs a bamboo stake tied along its truck to help it grow straight. If we planted the tree, our staff will stake the tree and tell you what to do next.
Can it be prevented in the future?
Most nurseries will notice a tree trunk that needs support and will tie a stake along the trunk. Unless your tree starts leaning, it usually does not need to be staked.
