Open Position: Program Coordinator for Renaissance Trees Program
The NJ Tree Foundation, a statewide tree planting and educational nonprofit, is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to work in multiple cities in New Jersey. The Program Coordinator will advance our community-based urban forestry efforts in New Jersey.

About the Position: The Renaissance Trees Program Coordinator will implement community-based tree planting projects in multiple New Jersey cities, mainly Newark, Jersey City, and the surrounding area with occasional projects in other New Jersey locations. Duties include: Find and organize community groups and volunteers to conduct tree plantings and greening projects. Map out and/or design projects. Recruit other organizations as partners. Participate in green infrastructure group/coalition meetings and activities. Educate residents through our TreeKeepers training. Assist our development director with grants, grant reports, and press releases. Communicate projects effectively to various groups and via social media. Assist NJ Tree Foundation staff with other tree plantings, maintenance, and educational projects. This is a remote position. The applicant must be able to work remotely and frequently visit the mostly Northern New Jersey cities where trees are planted and meetings are held.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have a BS in Environmental Science, Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or a similar field. Experience in community organizing, green infrastructure, non-profit work a plus. Some evenings and Saturdays required. Excellent written, verbal, listening, and people skills a must. Good computer skills necessary. Valid driver’s license and good driving record a must. Able to work independently and work well in a group setting. Leadership skills necessary.

Salary & Benefits: Starting salary mid to upper $30’s, commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes: Paid vacation days, sick days, and holidays plus health insurance, flex-time, compensatory time, and a work vehicle.
