On May 10, 2013, our Newark Renaissance Trees Program partnered with the Greater Newark Charter School (GNCS) to plant trees in and around their Community Garden located on the corner of Broad Street and Clark Street in Newark, NJ. Tree Lilacs and Cherry trees now line the perimeter of the garden thanks to the hard work poured in by our volunteers including 30 students from GNCS. Pictured are some of the students happily planting trees with Newark’s Director of Neighborhood and Recreational Services. See more photos here.
