General Volunteer Information

Each year, hundreds of volunteers join forces with Camden residents and the NJ Tree Foundation to dig holes, plant trees, lay mulch, and have fun at Urban Airshed Reforestation Program planting events. To volunteer or for more information, email Crystal at cwessel@njtreefoundation.org, or call 856-287-4488.

All tree plantings are rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to arrive no later than 9am and can arrive as early as 8:45 am to help set up for the event. Events typically run until noon. 

Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. Tools, gloves, water, and planting instructions are provided.
