Trees are critically important to improving the urban environment. They clean the air, reduce localized flooding, and increase the health and happiness of people living around them. As one of our Newark tree recipients explains, “I can’t express how happy these trees make me feel. I wish more people would put them up. There isn’t much grass around here so I look at them a lot. Sometimes I just open my window and stare out at their beauty. The trees bring me great joy!”
